How to Create Trend?

  • Click on ‘Trend’ in the left menu bar. It will show All the predefined and created Trends.

  • You can switch from Segment (Customer) to Cluster (Product) to see Cluster trends.
  • You can select to view ‘All’ Trends or just 1D or 2D Trends.

  • Click ‘CREATE’ in the upper-right corner to create a new trend.

  • On the ‘Create Segment/Cluster Trend’ page, fill in the name of the trend you want to create.

  • Enter ‘Description’ for the trend you are creating.

  • Select the ‘Type’ of Trend (For Segment or For Cluster).

  • Select if you want to create a 1D Trend or 2D Trend from ‘Trend Type’. For 1D Trend, you’ll be needing to fill in the fields for 1 Dimension.

  • For 2D Trend, you’ll need to fill in the details for 2 Dimensions.

  • For Dimension 1, Select the behavior (Purchase, Browsing or Email) for the first dimension to be acknowledged for the Trend.

  • Select if you want the Trend to acknowledge the exact Value or Score.

  • Select the duration for which you want to track the Trend of 1st Dimension (Last 12 Months, Monthly, All time).

  • Select the KPI you want to track for the Trend, for the chosen time duration.

  • Choose if the Low value is good for the selected dimension or High value. As we are creating a Recency-Monetary Trend, for example, the low value is good for 1st Dimension (i.e Recency in Days).

  • Similarly, choose the behavior for the 2nd Dimension (when you are creating a 2D Trend, or else, 1D Trend would require only one dimension’s information).

  •  Choose if the trend should acknowledge the exact Value or Score.

  • Select the duration for which you want to track the Trend of 2nd Dimension (Last 12 Months, Monthly, All time).

  • Select the KPI you want to track for the Trend, for the chosen time duration. (As we have taken Monetary as the 2nd Dimension, the dropdown shows the Monetary-related KPIs).

  • Choose if the Low value is good for the selected dimension or High value. As we are creating a Recency-Monetary Trend, for example, the high value is good for the 2nd Dimension (i.e Total Purchase Amount).

  • Now choose the ‘Duration (in months)’ that acts as the difference between two points of time, to acknowledge the performance of KPI values at different times (i.e 3 months, 6 months, etc). It is done to acknowledge the ‘Change in Trend’ in the left graph of the trends (to know how much business performance has changed in the selected time duration).

  • In the adjacent right corner of the ‘Duration (in months)’, choose the ‘Weightage’ for every possible combination of both the selected Dimensions. This can be easily done by acknowledging what could be the weightage of a Low/Neutral/High 1st Dimension Value in combination with the Low/Neutral/High 2nd Dimension Value, i.e very good, good, neutral, bad or very bad. The weightage can be understood by taking the low/high good value for selected KPI as 1, neutral as 0 and low/high bad value as -1. When these are added together for each low, neutral and high combinations of both dimensions, it will result in the weightage as per the score obtained (refer to the values of very good, bad, neutral, etc beneath the table). Note that the summation of the total weightage should be ‘Neutral 0’, so any less or more than a total of 0 means the weightage assigned is wrong.

  • Click ‘SAVE’ in the upper right corner to save the created trend. Then, Go to ‘Analytics’ in the left menu bar to see the created trend after selecting it from the ‘Show/Hide View’ next to ‘CREATE’.
